We had nine Section A foals in 2009 What was I thinking! Oh well. Five pretty fillies and four nice colts.
Severn Windjammer, chestnut colt foaled 4/13/09 (Severn Merrmaker LOM x Charmsley Simoon. This is a colt with good conformation and a sense of humor! Gelded 10/10 and doing well Windjammer is for sale.
That is not his mother beside him but rather Severn Olympia with her foal there also.
Olympia). Athena is full sister to Severn Circe (2007) and Severn Siren Song
(2006). The only thing the three seem to have in common outside of their parentage is their grey color. This one is a keeper since I have sold both of her older sisters.
Severn Consort, grey colt foaled 5/00/09 (Severn Donegal x Shallowcreek Jubilee). This nice colt is the younger brother of the filly that killed herself this past spring. Consort and the filly seen below are the last two of Donegal's children since he died this last winter at age 23. Donegal was a full brother to my LOM broodmare, Severn Pansi. 12/09 sold to MariaHudgins so we will be able to keep track of him!
Severn Pins 'n Needles, grey filly foaled 5/00/09 (Severn Donegal x
Alliance Designer Bow LOM). Bow has had another lovely baby. This one looks like her Dad and will be a keeper since Donegal died last year. Bow has now had 9 fillies out of 10 foals! I am just glad it was not the other way around.
Severn Periwinkle). This is my first baby from Tiber whom a bought in the
Farnley sale last July. She is very pretty. I am very pleased with Tiber so far. Of course, Peri has had several show-winning babies in the past so Tiber does not get all the credit! Coral Belle is for sale. She will be on the show string in 2010 until sold.
Severn Cloche, bay filly foaled 5/00/09 (Severn Merrymaker x Severn
Easter Bonnet). Cloche has been on the show string this summer since I wanted to show her dam. Easter Bonnet is the only child I have of Oak Orchard Joy. I hope she will be Joy's 3rd leg for her dam LOM. Joy's other two legs are Severn High Life and Severn Festive Spree. Cloche has a bald face with white eyelashes on the right side but her eye is dark. 9/09 Sold to Ryan Hannah who continued to show her to become WPCSA 5th place Junior Filly in 2009 as a foal! She is a very sweet filly.
Severn Jasper, bay colt foaled 7/03/09 (Severn Gambol LOM x3 x
Severn Baubles 'n Beads LOM). This cute baby is Bebe's first foal and he was born with a swollen head and cloudy eyes - apparently some kind of birth injury. However, within a couple of weeks under Peggy Marshall's and my Veterinarian son's great care, the baby is fine with no residual problems. Bebe also had a retained placenta so everything about Jasper's birth was traumatic. He is an adorable baby who already thinks he is a big man. Update 10/10, Jasper has been gelded and is for sale.
Severn Freyja bay filly foaled 8/29/09 (Severn Merrymaker (LOM) x Alliance Decorator Bow ). Another nice filly born almost in the fall. Her older sibling was our December baby. Freyja is growing up to be a very pretty filly with a very nice disposition. She is for sale.
Severn Storm Cloud, brown (or grey) colt foaled 5/00/09 (Rainbow Magic Star Bright x Morwel Mariah). I bought Mariah from Paul Hurd last winter (another Severn West Wind daughter) and she was in foal to Jeff Grossenbacher's nice black stallion. This colt is going to be a hunter pony prospect and has already been snapped up by Maria Hudgins.
