Severn Oaks Farm
We had four foals in 2008. Unfortunately one of them, a very sweet colt, had a very large cleft palate and had to be put down leaving us with two section A foals and one Half Welsh colt. I have added a recent photo of our December 2007 baby, also.
FOALS 2008
SEVERN OBERON, Half Welsh, Grey (born palomino) colt, foaled 5/21/08 (Fox Cry Whinny the Pooh x Severn Queen of Hearts by Severn West Wind. This colt is 3/4 Welsh and 1/4 Arabian. He has a wonderful disposition and real presence. At his first show, he was third and fourth in a class of 9 Half Welsh colts and geldings 2 and under.
Update 9/09 Oberon was gelded in the spring and was sold last month to Martha McDonald in NY state. He continues to have a fabulous disposition and to win championships. At the Ohio show in August, he had two grand champion half Welsh and one reserve grand at the 4 day show. WPCSA Reserve Champion Half-Welsh Gelding 2009 as a Yearling!
SEVERN SHAKO, Section A bay roan colt foaled April, 2008 (Lianna's Dapper Dan x Severn Easter Bonnet by Severn West Wind). This very cute colt was my last Dan baby and has already been sold!
Update 9/09 Shako is doing well in his new home. Was shown in the MPB yearling futurity and placed well. He is a lovely mover and is destined to be a child's pony.
SEVERN SWEET VICTORIA, Section A grey (born chestnut roan) filly foaled May, 2008 (Severn Donegal x Shallowcreek Jubilee by Severn Merrymaker. This is a very sweet filly! I like her so well that I have borrowed her sire for the summer to get a couple more Donegal babies, I hope.
Update 9/09 A tragedy with this filly. We were feeding her with another filly in about a 15 foot pen in the field. Something scared her and she ran into the side of the pen (a horse wire fence with a board on the top) and broke her neck. She was a lovely filly.
SEVERN HOLLYBERRY BOW, foaled 12/12/07 almost a 2008 baby. Here she is in May 2008. We showed her with some success until she was weaned directly after this show.
Update 9/09 hanging out in the field. Maybe for sale later as dam has produced another pretty filly.
